Project Goal
As members of “Technology Brings Diversity”, we believe in interactive art’s ability to innovate through its progressive nature. Our diverse background leads to our collective approach in creating interactive artwork, which welcomes different opinions on our perceptions of technology. Through technology, interactive art has further been diversified and its definition will likely only continue to change as time goes on.
This was the final project of my interactive art class. As a group of nine, we were tasked with creating an interactive art piece inspired by some of the work we have researched in previous projects. We created a meaningful name to represent our collective.
Concept & Inspirations
It is said that dreams incorporate fragments of memories and experiences we have had in the past. We seek to explore the meaning and connection of dreams and memories. Dreams will be conceptualized by a collection of people’s dreams in the form of colours and illustrations. The participants will share a particular dream experience by drawing on a canvas to create a data structure for dynamic self-development based on users’ input.
Similar to the works of Memory Palace, Dream Capsule will utilize illustrations as the main source of content. These varying illustrations will introduce the key interactive element of chance.

The Johnny Cash Project’s use of HTML will be mirrored in Dream Capsule as an implementation of collective structures in the medial realm. Instead of using the site as an archive to honor the late artist, however, it will be adapted to archive illustrations of dreams.
Wireframing

The initial wireframes featured below are the home page, colour selection page, and view page. The website flow is based upon two options that the user may choose from. They may either participate or view the archive. If they choose to participate they will be asked to remember a dream of theirs and draw it with the colour that best represents the emotions of the dream. Once drawn it will be uploaded to the archive which can be accessed by viewing the archive. The archive itself is organized by colour and each has a soundscape to further solidify the colour connotatons.
Prototyping
Our final prototype is highighted below and the archive itself is linked at the top. The only speedbump we ran into is that in order to get the back-end development working we would have to pay a variety of costs which the team was not willing to do. In order to still have a functioning archive we implemented a download button and submit button that directs people to a google form, where we will manually upload them to the site.

Summary
Overall this project went smoothly as the team was very respectful and friendly with each other. I think it is safe to assume that we have all made a long lasting project and really good friends. Due to our unique skillsets we accomplished an amazing project and I am extremely proud of me and my team.
